The increase in the housing loan interests does not seem to scare the Bulgarians who want a new home. The National Credit Center announced that the housing loans drawn last month were by eight percent more than in June. In addition, only nine percent of the preliminarily approved candidates for housing loans have withdrawn their applications, as against eighteen percent in June. The average size of the drawn mortgage loans is 50,376 euro. The citizens of Sofia tend to draw loans of about 67,000 euro, because they prefer two-room apartments, which cost about 70,000 euro. Most often, the banks give mortgage loans in the size of eighty percent of the price of the house.
