The European low-cost airline company easyJet announced today that it will expend its activities and will enter for the first time the Bulgarian market.

The new line will start in the autumn and will connect Sofia and London three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday). A one way ticket will be 33.99 EUR and a return one 75.77 EUR including taxes.

The easyJet flights will start on 6 November from Sofia airport to the London Gatwick airport, which is the biggest base of the company.

“Bulgaria is an interesting new market for easyJet and we are impatiently waiting to present our unique trademark for low cost flights. As a leading low-cost company in Europe, easyJet simplifies the traditional aviation business model and focuses on effectiveness, which allows us to reduce the expenses and consequently save expenses to our customers”, comments in a statement Peter Voets, marketing manager of easyJet for Bulgaria.

That is indeed good news for those of us that 'commute' on a regular basis, hope it all goes to plan and the fares stay competitive.

That is indeed good news for those of us that 'commute' on a regular basis, hope it all goes to plan and the fares stay competitive.:cool:Well, that was downright expected since EasyJet's 2002 120-aircraft contract untill 2007 went quite ok. Now there's no doubt about the further 120 A319s EasyJet's buying untill 2012, so...we're flyin cheaper :)
In the meantime, Ryanair, the largest Europan low-fare airline, announced just some 3 months ago the purchase of 27 more Boeing 737-800s, which rises the number of its fleet up to 308 aircrafts. That's another opportunity for us.

Im really pleased with this actually as I'm a big fan of Easyjet.
They're not too great with being on time though I must admit!
