The high level meeting of the seventh most developed industrial countries in the world plus Russia starts today. The meeting is also known as G8. This year the gathering takes place in Heiligendamm resort, Germany.
Except the state and governmental leaders of the eight participants, the forum will be attended also by representatives of the countries with highly developed economies: Brazil, China, India, Republic of South Africa and Mexico. Leaders of some African countries are also invited.
Meeting's expenses are expected to be round 100 million EUR. Heilingendamm gathering will be the most expensive political conference that Germany has ever hosted.
Main topics that will be discussed are economy issues, African countries and climate protection. Host of G8 - the German canceller Angela Merkel count a lot on a intensive dialogue for one valuable debate about the world economy.
