Bulgaria's Borovets winter resort will begin the new winter season renovated and modernised.
Borosport, the company in charge of all Borovets facilities, invested 12 million leva in the resort. Current modernisation was a stage of a resort development project launched a few seasons ago, Darik Radio said.
A new lift similar to escalator was constructed in the resort. It was 200m long, among the longest in Europe, Darik said.
Other innovation is the children playground called Borokids. The facilities were imported from Austria and met all European security and safety standards, Darik said. The facilities will allow children to learn skiing faster. A kindergarten at Rila Hotel could take care for the infants.
All tracks had new marking and additional warning signs. Two snow-processing machines will be used for the maintenance of the ski tracks.
The new winter season in Borovets will open on December 23 2006.
