NEW job classification became effective from January 1, 2006. It was approved by minister of labour and social policy Emilia Maslarova just before New Year. The classification includes nine classes of occupations and reflect the changes in the labour market, technologies, human resources, the change of ownership and the entry of foreign investors in the past ten years.
The classification lists a series of new occupations and jobs, especially in the field of information technologies, communications, advertising and engineering, while at the same time removing many outdated occupations. This will considerably facilitate employers when registering employment agreements and setting social security thresholds.
