"For the first time in ten years tourists will be able to stay the night at the Rila Monastery," said Father Eulogius, abbot of the monastery.
The monastery hostel has already been entirely renovated and will open its doors on August 15. The 80 rooms will offer excellent conditions. The price has not been fixed yet but Father Eulogius promised that it would be much lower compared to the nearby hotels. Decades ago when the hostel was still open it was always full at Easter and in the winter. Foreign and Bulgarian tourists and worshippers frequently stayed for two or three days.
The reconstruction of the hostel was entirely financed by the monastery. The facade of one of Bulgaria's most popular tourists site has also been repaired.
