"The UK will not automatically open its labor market for workers from Bulgaria and Romania, if the countries join the EU in 2007," UK Secretary of State for the Home Office Charles Clarke said for the Financial Times.
In 2004, London gave green light to the workers from the new member states and admitted this was boost to the British economy. Clarke , however, said the same approach would not be applied to Bulgaria and Romania.
"It is not true we will do for Bulgaria and Romania the same we did for the eight East Europe countries, acceded in 2004," he said. Over the past two days he visited Bulgaria and Romania.
