The number of newly built homes goes up by 50% for a year only
Construction business remains to be the most quickly developing field in Bulgaria. This has been the case for the last several years and as it seems, this will hardly be changed soon. According to experts, buying a flat is considered a good investment and not a small number of people buy additional flats just for the sake of investment.
The statistics shows that the number of newly built homes went up by 50% in 2005. Over 12,000 homes were built in Bulgaria for a year only. Another tendency, which has been going in the last 1-2 years, is the reduction of the size of the new flats.
Sources from the National Statistical Institute (NSI) inform that the average living-space in 2004 was 55,9 square meters, while it dropped down to 52 square meters in 2005.
