U.S. spirits maker changes Bulgarian distributor

Brown-Forman, the U.S. wine and spirits company, has selected Bulgarian company Transimpex to succeed Allied Domecq as the local distributor of its Jack Daniel's, Finlandia and Southern Comfort alcohol brands. The decision is part of Brown-Forman's strategy for development on the Central and East European markets. The company has also named new distributors in Hungary, Romania and the ex-Yugoslav states. The U.S. firm said Finlandia was Bulgaria's the top-selling vodka import in '05 with 1/3 of the market while Jack Daniel's controlled 45% of the bourbon segment.
