The Varna Free University will build hostels and e-library in Smolian

A modern student complex will be built in Smolian (southern Bulgaria) on the initiative of the Varna Free University Chernorizets Hrabar. The University has a branch in Smolian.
"This will be one of the future tourist attractions in the Rodopa Mountains," say officials from the University.
Students from Bulgaria and other Balkan countries are already preparing projects how the center will look like. There will be a sport complex, hostels, hotels, restaurants, a disco, cafes and shops. The ultra modern e-library will be the centre of the town. Small parks, alleys and recreation spots will bring freshness to the students' town that will be situated near the former pioneers' town. A jury will rate the projects. The authors of the three best projects will receive 1000 euro each. One of the projects will be realized. It will be presented officially on May 11 in the presence of Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov. On this date the Bulgarian Head of State will be one of the guests of the oldest school in Smolian that will celebrate its 150th anniversary. The Varna Free University will celebrate its 15th anniversary. The erection of the complex will be financed by the Varna Free University.
"The future students' complex will bring life to the whole town of Smolian," say officials from the university.
