The investors propose to refurbish the houses in the old town of Plovdiv and to turn them in hotels
Some Italy-based companies aspire to take the houses in the old town of Bulgaria's second largest city of Plovdiv as a concession. The houses represent the architecture of the Bulgarian Revival. The entrepreneurs want to turn these unique old building into hotels, pubs and office-buildings, as it transpired from the visit of Italian businessmen to Plovdiv.
They want to take up the maintenance and upkeep of the old buildings, which have a status of cultural monuments.
"We insist on a long-term concession agreement, which will give us time to turn these houses in hotels and office-buildings," the Italians said.
The Plovdiv Municipality has not given an answer to the proposal of the Italian entrepreneurs, because they need to assess all pros and cons, first.
