Hearing on civil claim against Bulgarian nurses put off

Dimiter Tsanchev, spokesman for the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said that the hearing of the case on the civil claim against the 5 Bulgarian nurses over the death of AIDS child victim Safaa al-Ghaddafi had been postponed for March 12 because the defence had not come to the courtroom. The parents have filed a claim over the death of another one of their daughters, but until now hearings were put off because the Courts in Libya awaited the ruling of the Supreme Court on the death sentences of the 5 Bulgarian nurses, according to which latter ruling the death sentences had been scrapped and the case sent back for retrial.
