A Scottish professor has become a hotel-keeper in the village of Banya near Razlog (southewestern Bulgaria). The biologist, who has been a pensioner for several years, and his wife welcome a lot of guests. "Our aim is to promote Bulgaria in Western Europe and the USA. We try to reveal Bulgaria's beauty to our guests, because your country is a second Motherland to us," Prof. Brown says.
There are six apartments in his PEN BRO hotel, which is situated close to the house where the family lives. The biologist has a small lab visited by small groups of scholars and students from all over the world - there they pass a short training course. "Colleagues of mine from Canada, the Netherlands, Germany and France often visit me. This is a kind of scientific tourism," the hotel-keeper explains.
