Allianz Bulgaria has emerged as the biggest pension company in this country, dislodging long-time market leader Doverie, show official statistics for 2005.
In 2005, Allianz controlled a market share of 34,76% versus 32,68% for Doverie and some 10% for Saglasie.
A total of 2,971,839 Bulgarians had pension plans by end-2005, up by 9.4% (255,472 accounts) as compared to a year earlier, according to statistics of the Financial Supervision Commission.
The assets of the pension companies grew by 324 mln levs in 2005, up 41.24% year-on-year. Revenues increased by 27.45% (nearly 7 mln levs) to 32 mln levs.
The net assets of the supplementary voluntary pension insurance funds totalled 1.11 bln levs.
The universal pension funds manage 75% of all pension plans. Voluntary pension insurance funds manage another 18.5% of.
The universal funds have accumulated the biggest financial resource and account for some 40% of the sector's assets, followed by the voluntary funds with 37.5% and the occupational pension insurance companies with 22.78%.
