An automated system for punching in public transport, through which electronic tickets and cards will be implemented, starts from September 1, the deputy mayor of Sofia Velizar Stoilov said.
The old paper cards and tickets will continue to be used, BGNES writes.
The electronic ticket will be used only in trolley-buses and trams, while the old system will be kept for buses.
According to a regulation by Sofia municipality, the ticket will be a normal transport document, after being perforated, issued from the tram or trolley-bus machine, or taxed by validators located near the doors of the vehicle right after entry.
